1. Summary
VorteX is a 3D rocket-engine simulation for iPhone, iPad and Android phones, made for entertainment for space and rocket enthusiasts. We do not collect, store or share personal information. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and it makes no network connections of its own (purchases and restores go through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and Google Play Billing on Android). Everything runs on your device.
2. What the app does on your device
- Camera (AR, optional, VorteX Pro). If you open the life-size AR view, your device asks for camera access. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's AR Quick Look processes the camera image on your device to place the engine in your room. AR availability on Android may differ by device and app version; where it's offered, it uses your camera only on your device. We never record, save or receive the camera image. You can turn camera access off at any time in iOS Settings > VorteX, or in Android Settings > Apps > VorteX > Permissions.
- Temporary 3D model file. To open AR, the app writes a 3D model of the engine to your device's temporary storage. It contains no information about you.
- Purchase status. The app checks with the App Store (StoreKit) or Google Play Billing whether you own VorteX Pro.
- Haptics and keeping the screen awake while the engine runs use no personal information.
3. Purchases
VorteX Pro and other in-app purchases are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone and iPad, and by Google through Google Play on Android. We don't receive your payment details. Apple and Google handle this information under their own privacy policies (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ and https://policies.google.com/privacy). We receive sales reports from App Store Connect and Google Play Console, which may include an order number and a general location; we use them only to run and support VorteX, not to identify you. To request a refund: for App Store purchases, at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play purchases, through Google Play (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637), or contact us.
4. Analytics and crash reports from Apple and Google
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may give us aggregated usage and crash information through App Store Connect. On Android, if you've chosen to share usage and diagnostics data, Google Play may give us aggregated or anonymised crash and performance information (Android vitals) through Google Play Console. Apple and Google control this. It doesn't include your name or account, and you can turn it off in your device's settings at any time.
5. Children
VorteX's ratings on the App Store (4+) and Google Play are content ratings, meaning the app contains no objectionable material; they do not mean the app is directed at children, and it is not. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Sharing and overseas disclosure
We do not sell, rent, share or disclose personal information, because we do not hold any. We do not send personal information from the app overseas. If you email us, your message is stored by our email provider, Apple (iCloud Mail), which may store it outside New Zealand; see our website Privacy Policy (https://www.prettymuchworks.com/privacy/).
7. Security and retention
We hold no personal information from the app, so there is nothing from the app to retain or secure on our side. Data kept on your device stays under your control and is removed when you delete the app. Copies in a device backup (iCloud Backup, or Android's backup to your Google Account) are removed when that backup is deleted or replaced. We keep support emails only for as long as we need them to respond to you and to meet our legal obligations, and then delete them.
8. Your rights
New Zealand (Privacy Act 2020)
You have the right to ask us for access to, and correction of, personal information about you (Information Privacy Principles 6 and 7). As we hold none, we will normally confirm that. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (www.privacy.org.nz).
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)
We do not process personal data about you as a controller through the app. On-device processing (such as the AR camera feed) happens locally and is not accessed by us. You still have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office). We don't receive or hold personal data from the app, so we haven't appointed a representative in the EU or UK. If you are in the EU or UK, contact us directly at support@prettymuchworks.com.
California (CCPA/CPRA)
In the last 12 months we have not collected, sold or shared (for cross-context behavioural advertising) any category of personal information about California residents. You have the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of sale/sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights.
9. Changes
If VorteX ever starts collecting information, we will update this policy, the App Store privacy label and the Google Play Data safety section before that version is released, and change the effective date above.
